1980-1996 F-150 Straight Axle Swap
Here is how I did the solid axle swap on my 94 F150, using a straight axle and radius arm setup from 78-79. The TTB front end is the same from 80-96 on F-150's and Bronco's so if you have on of those, it will be the same. There are many different ways to do this swap, here's what worked best for me. I went for 12 inches of lift to clear 40" tires but you can do it with as little as 4 inches of lift if you don't mind trimming the crossmember so the pumpkin doesn't hit it.
Converting your NP205 from a single stock to a twin stick allows you to control front and rear axles independently. This gives you several options for offroading, pulling heavy junk, etc. You can have front whel drive, front wheel low, rear wheel low...Whatever combination you want. The conversion is easy to do and requires no special tools. You can use a Dremel or small grinder to modify the shift rail and other than that the rest are just basic hand tools.
How to install headlight relays...the right way
Ok basically this is a very simple process, that eliminates any excess resistance caused by wires, switches and excessive connections that come factory in most vehicles...yet still lets you use the headlight switches, or auto headlights, or anything that you have. Plus i will explain how to set up your fog lights or whatever so that they turn on with your park lights, but still have the option to turn off with a switch or button of your choice.
Ford NP203 and NP205 doubler assembly (lotta pics)
I have a 1967 F100 4x4 that I have been working on and I am trying to build it into a rock crawler/trail truck more or less. So I wanted to put in lower tcase gears but really didnt' want to shell out big bucks for something nice that I was probably going to break anyways. So I opted for a doubler kit.
